In 2015 we found out that there is a 1200 km long signposted route on the Island of Shikoku, Japan. This Buddhist pilgrimage route connects 88 temples. All these temples (amongst many others) are attributed to Kukai/Kobo Daishi (774-835), the founder of Shingon Buddhism. www.shikokuhenrotrail.com So, as Buddhism is a way of life we can identify ourselves with, we decided to walk this route…. as Buddhist pilgrims. March 19th 2017 we leave from Antwerp > Amsterdam > Osaka > Koyasan. We will stay 3 days with the monks at the Jimyo-in Temple to attend the Shomieku rituals. On March 22th we head for Shikoku, Ryozenji, Temple 1 of 88. Follow our journey and feel free to post something in our Blog or Guestbook.
